Ad of the Week
Ad of the Week -- hell, Ad of the Year. There's a touch of brilliance here.

Ad of the Week
I've been considering retiring my "ad of the week" feature, but the following "Hello Flo" ad has made me, at least temporarily, rethink that consideration.

Ad of the Week
This may be the best campaign I've seen all year: GE's "Agent of Good."

Ad of the Week
I fell in love with this narrative. It flew by me on TV, and I've had great fun pausing and playing it back to capture the nuances that are all there. So much more than a minute's narrative tucked into the details.

Ad of the Week
A beautiful clockwork world -- reason to revive the old ad of the week feature.

Ad of the Week
Ad of the Week is revived to bring you the UK's "Pony Dancer." Which is gathering a life of its own.

Ad of the Week
This just cracks me up. Kitchen ghosts with great dialog. And the effects aren't bad either.
There's a cookie version too, same theme, Christmas-y-er, but not as awesome dialog.

Ad of the Week
I love coffee. Whether he's called Joe or Johann, I don't normally care. Although they make a compelling case to upgrade to Johann.
On an honest to goodness, there-was-no-hot-man-with-an-accent involved scenario. I have tried Gevalia (the chocolate version was on sale and I was like I wonder what this stuff in the yellow package is?). It's freakin awesome. I take a little of the chocolate Gevalia and mix it with the regular (cheap) coffee grounds in the filter and wow. That's a nice upgrade.

Ad of the Week
Whimsy, child-like innocence, supercool toys (hello, dino-crane!), a nod to Toy Story, and a brief delivery of the very adult key word "economy."

Ad of the Week
You may have seen this one on TV -- I hope you have, it's cute -- but this version is the "online edit."

Ad of the Week
Political ad-makers take note: if you feature reunions of my favorite TV casts, in character and doing what they do best, I pay attention.
Likely the best political ad of the season (hard to top an all-star cast) and who is it for? A Michigan judicial candidate. Read about how it came to be on The Wire.

Ad of the Week
I can't get enough of these paint chip animations. It reminds me of all the really cool work I've seen artists do with found objects -- worthless in the day-to-day sense, fabulous when made into art.

Ad of the Week
I love this ad so, so much. And I laughed so, so hard when I first saw it. Below, in its full glory. One part American Eagle, one part Urban Outfitters or H&M, dash of every pretentious perfume-for-young-people-reclaiming-their-freedom-that-they-never-lost ad, when in actually, it's for SEARS.

Ad of the Week
This is one of the more awesome ads I've seen on TV recently.
Then again, maybe I'm just a sucker for people in real life situations bursting into song.

Ad of the Week, Olympic double edition
In my opinion, I don't think there is an Olympic ad to top a zombie on a pommel horse. But the topiary (or "hopiary" as he's also called) man in the Olympic village amused me. There are more videos on YouTube of the making of this Dow commercial.
